This complete process can be Project Managed on your behalf.
The benefits being:
Minimises user "non-productive" commitments
Maximises user involvement in the decision making process
Preserves user ownership of the solution
Allows maintenance of day-to-day business activities
The result of this process is that you have maximised the potential success of the project without putting your business at risk through concentration on non-productive activities. The stages of the process, and associated support, are as follows.
Specification Preparation
To specify the user requirements, in a form that allows the maximum assessment of suitability, is the fundamental starting point. The Invitation To Tender (ITT) may be developed from scratch, built upon a user developed Statement Of User Requirements (SOUR) or compiled from a base Invitation To Tender with additional data added.
Potential Supplier Selection
From the ITT, a summary will be produced of the key requirements and constraints (i.e. Company purchasing preferences) such that a ' long list' of potential suppliers can be compiled. This service will include the searching of the appropriate references, database and other sources of information to produce such a list.
First Pass Assessment
.
Based upon the above, the long listed suppliers will be approached for basic information to confirm the suitability of their offering. This exercise is one which is typically conducted on the clients behalf, anonymously or with minimal user involvement if necessary, to separate the "wheat from the chaff".
Full Evaluation
A full evaluation of the short-listed solution can then be undertaken to identify the most suitable. This will include close cooperation with the suppliers to match the requirements defined with the facilities available. This will be achieved through demonstrations, presentations and reference visits. Finally, we will document the assessment process to facilitate management approval. We will also support the contract negotiation and advise on the method, scope and conditions of supply to be sought from the vendor.
Implementation
Our services do not stop at the end of the selection process. Because we have faith in the selection process we follow, we like to implement the selected systems to demonstrate that faith. Our services can be supplied at two levels.
